To The Least, Last, Lost, and Lonely…

All of us are encouraged to help the incarcerated and enable their rehabilitation. It would be excellent if you could pray for inmates & and provide a Palanca, (a Spanish word that means to lift up, like a lever).  Palancas are actions such as writing letters of encouragement, offer small sacrifices – say the Rosary for them, attend one extra Mass each week, don’t watch your favorite TV show, and other small things that are works of mercy.

While there has to be punishment for crimes, we should remember what the Pope said, “confinement is not the same thing as exclusion.  All of us have something we need to be cleansed of, or purified from. May the knowledge of this fact inspire us to live in solidarity, to support one another and seek the best for others.”

Request for action:  Help one of the most vulnerable groups that Pope Francis endorses by writing to a prisoner who wrote to our parish.
