She shows love and compassion from the smallest of creatures to the big world that surrounds her. Her amazing and charismatic approach to others truly shows how genuine and beautiful her heart is. It is amazing to see at such a young age how she sees God’s goodness in all creation. She shows respect for her classmates and for all living things which is perfectly God’s plan. This month’s commitment is Respect for Creation and the Environment.  The person selected by the Kinder B class embodies this commitment on a daily basis.  She is always respectful with herself, others and God at all times.  She is one of the first students in the class to point out nature and the environment.  She is very respectful to all of God’s creatures always suggesting that the class take care of any sick or injured animals or plants that we may find.  She is always able to see the beauty in all of God’s creations.  She is always adding her positive energy and kind spirit to all she does.  She is truly blessed with a beautiful peace of mind that allows her to have a respectful and kind soul for all of God’s creations.   For all of these reasons the Kinder B class family is happy to present Victoria Rodriguez as this month’s Catholic Value winner.

1st Grade

God teaches us that only through self-respect can we then demonstrate respect for others.  Living a respectful life requires both discipline and maturity. At a young age, this student is aware of her responsibilities and the consequences of her actions. This awareness guides her ability to choose helpful actions and words. This student knows when it is her turn to speak and when it is her turn to listen. Her respectful behavior is an asset to our class family. The First Grade class would like to thank Luna Morales-Salas for being this month’s Christian Value recipient.

2nd Grade

Respecting and taking care of our environment is loving and respecting God, our Father.  He created this world full of beauty so that we may look around and see Him in every imaginable way possible.  Our job is to care for everything around us.  The student chosen by our class family demonstrates this Catholic Value every day.  She’s always looking out for the environment and taking great care of God’s creation.  She doesn’t let anyone sway her into making bad choices.  This student makes all the right choices, even if everyone around her is not.  Our second grade class family would like to congratulate Sofia Sizer!

3nd Grade “A”

Pope Francis once said, “You are called to care for creation not only as responsible citizens but also as followers of Christ”. When we speak of respect for creation and the environment, I believe this respect is more than what the words say – this respect extends to everything and everyone in the world because we are all God’s creation. This student has consistently illustrated through his actions – his respect towards creation, respect to the environment, respect to his school family and respect to God.
His sweet, kind, and gentle heart shines through in all that he does and is evident in his smile as well. He always jumps up to be the first to help out in any way he can and offers his services to facilitate every single time he sees help is needed. He is the definition of a true gentleman. We are truly fortunate to have him part of our class family. Class 3A is proud to announce Isaiah Trelles as this month’s Catholic Value winner

3rd Grade “B”

“And the Lord God took the man, and put him into the Garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.” Genesis 2:15.
This month Catholic Value teach us that caring for the earth is a duty of our faith and a sign of our concern for all people. As Catholics, we have a moral obligation to protect the planet on which we live, to respect God’s creation and to ensure a safe and friendly environment for human beings.  This commitment is shown daily by one of our students.  He knows that caring for God’s creation means caring for that which brings him praise and worship.  This student understands that being God’s Earth-keepers involve showing acts of love and kindness toward all creation—toward other people; toward other creatures; and toward the well-being of land, sea, and air. In doing these things, he exercises his vocation as stewards of creation not out of guilt or despair. Rather, what makes his journey sacred is that he acts with a gratitude nourished by God’s grace.  It is with great honor that 3B nominates Ignacio Chazarreta as this month’s Catholic Value recipient.

4th Grade

As Catholics, we show our respect for the Creator by our stewardship of God’s creation. Caring for the earth and all its creatures is a duty given to us by our faith. This month’s recipient consistently shows her love and respect for all creation through her helpful actions. One student stated, “She truly respects nature and everything around her. Every day after lunch she helps clean up the cafeteria while everyone else is distracted.” This student keeps our environment clean, which helps to keep it safe. Many have seen her moving lady bugs from the ground to the plants so that they do not get stepped on. Her instinct to care for such a small animal shows her genuine respect for all forms of life. She can always be found helping her classmates and teachers. For these and many other reasons, the fourth grade class is proud to award this month’s Catholic value award to Victoria Villacorta.
