FIRST WORD
Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do. Luke 23:34
Meditation by Thomas Wharton, St. Patrick School 5th Grade Teacher
“Father forgive them for they know not what they do.” Luke 23:25.
Even at the time of his crucifixion Jesus prayed to God for them to be forgiven. It continues to be the great of all commandments to love thy enemy as myself.
It brings me to the realization of the hurts I inflict on others that I have no idea about. Little moments of neglect, thoughtlessness work that way. But I am deeply aware of my own little winces or worse. May we all practice forgiveness as the Lord did.
