As part of our parish 100th anniversary we want to acknowledge and honor those who built our parish.
Ms. Anna Helena LaGrange was the first person to receive the sacrament of Baptism in our parish on March 28, 1926. Her sponsors were Jacobus Farrell and Margarette Farrell. She married a Willilam Deem in May 1951.
The first boy and girl to receive first Communion at St. Patrick in Miami Beach were Harry Balfe and Geraldine Breit on March 17, 1930.
The first boy and girl to receive confirmation at St. Patrick were Peter J. Ausherry and Margaret Barrett on January 29, 1928. The sponsors were Luke Kilgallon and John J. Mangan, and Mary Grace Kotte and Emma Barrett respectively.
Tomas M. Campbell and Marion Bitzer were the first couple to marry at St. Patrick on April 27, 1926. The witnesses were Edward Higgins and Silvia Higgins.
We would like to recognize them or their descendants. We will soon be publishing a list of the 10 first parishioners to receive the sacraments of initiation and marriage at St. Patrick in Miami.
