NEWS – October 2020

A runny nose and a cough may not seem like a lot….but we need to keep everyone safe and healthy. If your child has what you think may be just a cold, please take him/her to the doctor and bring a note. This small inconvenience can save all us undue stress and worry. If your child’s teacher calls you to pick up your child, please do so as quickly as possible. We are all trying our hardest to keep everyone healthy and abide by the CDC recommendations. Please check the handbook if you have a question. Every child that was out sick needs a doctor’s note to come back to school.

Thank you to the Parent Association, especially Sophie Egea and Ms. Lara for putting together our Virtual Art Auction! We were able to sell last school’s Art work, maintain social distancing and raise over $1,000.00 for the preschool! Thank you for all the generous donations, I hope you LOVE your new paintings.

During the last few weeks the teaching staff has been administering the “Ages and Stages Questionnaire” to all the children at our center. The results of your child’s screenings will be reviewed with you at a Zoom Parent/Teacher ASQ conference. Your child’s teacher will assign a date and time for this very informative meeting and let you know. Please don’t miss this important opportunity to speak to your child’s teacher.

The Parent Association is putting together a Pumpkin Sale the week of October 26th! You can preorder your pumpkin and pick it up right at our preschool. Details to come!!!

This year we will celebrate Halloween on Friday, October 30th. Unfortunately, we can not celebrate Halloween like we used to, but we will try to make it as fun as possible for all the children. We will be ordering pizza from the cafeteria that day for all the children and the homeroom parents will let all of you know what else is needed to make this a special day. Since parents can not attend the teachers will send you a lot of photos! We encourage all the children and staff to dress up on Friday, October 30th. When shopping for your child’s Halloween costume please remember that scary costumes are not to be worn (including witches) and that if your child’s costume includes accessories such as play guns or swords that you leave them at home. We will dismiss at 12:00 on Friday, October 30th.
